Founded in 1933, Kunming Medical University (KMU) is a key provincial institution renowned for its excellence in medical education and research. Over 89 years, KMU has trained more than 200,000 medical professionals, significantly contributing to healthcare and social development in Yunnan Province.
The university spans three campuses, covering 98.8 hectares, with over 20,000 full-time
students, including undergraduates, postgraduates, doctoral candidates, and international
students. KMU offers 32 undergraduate programs, multiple postgraduate and doctoral
disciplines, and has received national and international accreditation for programs such as
Clinical Medicine, Nursing, and Stomatology.
KMU has a robust teaching and practice network, including 4 affiliated hospitals and
partnerships with 90 universities globally. As a founding member of the South and Southeast
Asia Medical Education and Service Alliance, it plays a pivotal role in advancing medical
